Pandora's Box

The Mask and the Mirror courtesy of vinnytk

My late mother's favourite poem
Regrettably the title eludes me
Dealt with the fact that life is
Like a tapestry on which we can

Embroider our choices of thread
Dull prosaic long threads of despair or
Bright flame-like short threads of hope
From my Pandora's Box of Midas gold

Behold, the burning threads of tapestry
Of the divine phoenix and the pearl dragon
Thus fulfilling the ancient prophesy
of Immortality for my beloved
A soultwin chosen by the master storyteller
Crafted by the throwing of Kismet's dicePerfection in every detail that matters
For a man all gifted like PandoraHe alone can peel away the layers
Of my human mask to reveal
The very nature of my feelings of love
That has stood the test of time
