ABOUT ME

The only constant in my entire life to date was my wish to be a wordsmith and writer. I am enrolled as a postgraduate student in the Creative Writing Diploma at the University of Technology Sydney. The reason for studying the craft of writing is the fact I am the granddaughter of William Somerset Maugham and I am also related to Honore de Balzac because of my father. I am because of my mother related to Virginia Woolf as well.  The power of three. Photography is also a ongoing passion and beading a way of expressing my own individual style of design. My hobbies are too many to mention here but one favourite comes to mind - the collecting of the drop-cap typography an ancient form of decorative art-form at the beginning of paragraphs such as this amazing example of the letter T sourced from the Book of Kells. In the twenty-first century drop-caps letters are used either online on my blogs or offline in my case in assignments. My latest compulsion is to collect chopstick rests - the reason is that I consider myself more Oriental than Continental - I am trying to reconnect to the Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Malay, Persian, Egyptian, Spanish and Moorish parts of self - if the gods are willing -  it will be so.
